Kason looked at Briella as she lay there naked. “I have never seen a more beautiful sight,” he said huskily, as finished undressing. “God, I can’t wait to be inside of you!”

Kason began kissing Briella all over, pausing between her legs to give her the pleasure that she deserved. He tasted her with shallow strokes at first, then deeper, until she was completely open to him and dripping with desire. Kason kept up the attention until Briella threw her head back and groaned with pleasure.

“Oh, my goodness,” she moaned when it was over.

“Your first climax as a wife,” he said to her, and she smiled.

Then it was his turn. Briella knelt before him and took him into her mouth. He was hard as she had ever felt him, and soon he was throbbing hard in appreciation of her skills. Just before he was about to explode, he pulled her up to lie next to him. He kissed her hard, and she gave back just as good as she got.

When neither one thought they could hold back any longer, Kason asked Briella, “Will I hurt you or the baby if I get on top of you?”

“I don’t think so,” Briella said, breathless from his kisses. .

Kason braced himself over Briella’s body. He looked into her eyes as he slowly slid into her. He wanted to take his time and make sweet love to his new wife. When his whole length was inside, Kason ground against her, pushing her to yet another orgasm. When he felt it happen, he stopped moving and waited for her to relax around him.

When he felt they had both regained control, he started moving again. He kept his eyes locked on Briella’s the whole time he made love to her, telling her things with his eyes rather than with words. When he saw her nearing the brink of another orgasm, he sped up, so they could share the feeling. They kept their eyes locked on each other as they both rode waves of exquisite pleasure.

“I love you so much, Mrs. Country Boy!” Kason said to Briella, wiping the sweat off her brow.

  “I love you too, honey.”

“Are you okay?” Kason asked, as he ran his hand over her stomach.

“Yes, actually I’m fine. Just a little tired. I think the baby is a little hungry too,” Briella told him.

“Well, you rest, and I’ll call up some room service for you.” Kason drew the blankets over her, kissed her cheek, then went and called for a hot dinner to be sent up.

Half an hour later, the food was brought to their room and Briella woke up as soon as she smelled it. She ate everything on her plate, then brought Kason back to their bed for another intense lovemaking session. She fell asleep soon after, and didn’t wake up until the next morning.

During their weeklong stay in Hawaii, the newlyweds barely left their hotel room. They went to the beach for a little while each day, and visited a few of the small shops near their hotel, but they spent most of their time in bed with each other.

When they finally headed back to Texas, Briella and Kason were well-rested and well-pleasured. Briella was feeling better now that she was heading into her second trimester, and Kason was excited that he could tell everyone about the pregnancy.

When they stepped off their plane in Texas, they were greeted by Kason’s family and Mila and Dexter. They all chatted excitedly about their trip and the wedding, then headed back to Briella and Kason’s to open wedding presents.

As they sat in the game room, Briella took Kason’s hand and turned to Dexter and Mila. “Hey guys, we have something to tell you.” She looked at Mila and Dexter and smiled. “Kason and I are going to have a baby!”

“Wow, that was fast! You just got back from your honeymoon today, and you know already?” Mila asked.

“Um, not really. I’m thirteen weeks pregnant. We knew before the wedding, but we wanted to wait until the second trimester to tell everyone,” Briella said. “The only people who knew were me, Kason, and his family.”

“Wow, congratulations! You guys all must be so excited!” Mila said, and jumped up to give Kason and Briella a hug.

“Awesome news. This is a big step, huh?” Dexter asked.

“It’s definitely a big step, but it’s one that I think we’re ready for,” Kason said.

“Oh! So that’s why you’ve been feeling so weak lately, and taking so much time off work!” Mila nodded. “Now all the pieces fit.”

“You got it. I’ve been quite sick with morning sickness, and tired like no one’s business. I’m feeling a lot better now though,” Briella said. “But, I’ll still take it easy at work.”

“Well, we have our own bit of news.” Dexter said, as he looked at Mila. “It’s not quite as good as yours, but it’s good for us.”

“We’ve decided to see other people,” Mila said.

There was a long moment of silence after that bombshell was dropped. Everyone looked around the room at each other, letting the news sink in.

“What are you talking about?” Briella exclaimed.

“Relax. Really Briella, it’s the best for both of us. We decided that we’re better off as friends. I think we both love each other, but we’re not in love. We can see how much you two love each other, and how you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your lives together, and we realized that’s not what we have,” Mila said.

“But you guys live together!” Aubrie said.

“And right now, we’ll continue to live together, but we’ll see how that works out in the future. Believe us, Dexter and I are both very happy with this decision.”

Briella looked at Kason, and neither one of them knew how to react. “Well, as long as this is what you both want. And you both know, that if either of you ever need a place to stay, you’re more than welcome to come back here,” Kason offered.

“We’re fine for now. We’ll see how everything works out, but thanks,” Dexter said.

The scene had grown quite awkward, so Mila decided it was time to go.

“Well, I think we’re going to head out. Briella, I’ll call you. Take care of yourself!”

Dexter sighed. “Sorry about telling you this now. We didn’t mean to be downers.”

“You take care of yourself too, and you didn’t ruin anything!” Briella said, hugging them both. They watched as the former couple headed for the door.

“Wow, do you really think they’re both okay with that arrangement?” Raelynn asked.

“I’m not sure, but if not, we’ll find out soon enough,” Briella said.

“Well, I’m sure you two would like to be alone, so we’re going to head out,” Bruce said, gathering the rest of his family and heading towards the door.

“Thanks for everything. We really appreciate it,” Kason told his parents before they left. He then turned to his wife and said, “So, we’re alone, and it’s our first night in our house as husband and wife. What would you like to do?”

“Oh, I have a few ideas. Grab the ice cream and meet me in the bedroom,” Briella said and ran upstairs, leaving Kason staring after her.

He was enjoying married life already.

  Chapter Twenty-One

Briella and Kason sat in the waiting room of the doctor’s office, nervously waiting to be called for Briella’s first ultrasound. “We won’t be able to see too much this early, mostly just the heartbeat,” Briella told Kason.

“Well, as long as we see the heartbeat, I’m fine with that. I just want to make sure our baby’s healthy,” Kason said, squeezing Briella’s hand in reassurance.

Their name was called a few minutes later, and Kason and Briella walked back to the ultrasound lab. The technician handed Briella a sheet and asked her to undress from the waist down and hop up on the table with the sheet draped over her. The tech left the room to give Briella some privacy while she undressed.

Briella did as she was told, and after she lay down, Kason rubbed her belly. “You know, you’ve definitely popped out in just the last two weeks. I can finally tell you’re pregnant.”

Briella laughed. “I’m not able to fit into any of my clothes anymore, so I need to go shopping soon. It’s amazing how fast I’ve starte
d to show. Think you can put up with six more months of me growing?”

“You’ve never looked better. I can’t wait until you’re big as a house!” Kason said sweetly, just before the tech walked back in.

“Is this your first ultrasound, Mrs. Harris?”

Briella smiled. She loved hearing people call her Mrs. Harris. “Yes, this is my first. I think we’re a little nervous,” she said, looking up at Kason.

“That’s understandable. It’s quite painless, and actually kind of cool.” She began to prepare Briella for the ultrasound and turned the screen on. She moved the wand around Briella’s belly until she found a good spot.

After a long moment of looking, the tech looked at them. “Did you take any fertility medications, like Clomid or Repronex?”

Briella shook her head. “No, it was a surprise for us to get pregnant. Why?”

“Well, there are two sacs there, and most people who have twins lately have them as a result of the fertility meds. Congratulations!”

  “Twins?” Kason asked the technician.

  “Two?” Briella echoed.

  “Two,” the tech said confidently.

  Kason laughed. “Are you kidding?”

“No. See, there’s one sac right here, and another there.” She pointed to her screen. “Both of the heartbeats are strong, and they are measuring well for their age. I’ll print off a picture for you to take with you,” she said as she hit a few buttons on the machine and three pictures popped out. She handed one to Kason, one to Briella, and put the third in their file. After cleaning Briella up, the tech told her she could get dressed, and then she left the room again.

Briella looked at Kason in shock. “No wonder I was so sick. There were two of them in there beating me up!”

  Kason beamed. “We’re having twins!”

“I can’t believe how well you’re handling this!” Briella said.

“I am so excited. Finding out we were having a baby was great, but finding out we’re having twins is unbelievable!” Kason babbled. “I am so happy! They are going to be so cute!”

“Hey, I’m the one who’s supposed to be glowing here!” Briella teased. “Think you can put me down so I can get dressed?”

Briella put her track pants back on, and they left the room together, hand in hand, with the pictures of their twins.

Two hours later, Briella sat with Mila in the food court of the mall, while they waited for Raelynn and Aubrie to show up.

“So, tell me the situation with you and Dexter. You definitely threw us all for a loop!” Briella said, trying to pry the story from her best friend.

“Well, I guess that we just weren’t meant to be together. We act more like best buddies than lovers. Dexter has never fawned over me the way Kason does over you. He doesn’t look at me the way Kason looks at you. That’s what I want from my partner, and I don’t feel like I have that with Dexter. Besides, look at our relationships. We met them at the same time, and you’re already married and pregnant. We just live together. He doesn’t love me the way I want to be loved,” Mila poured out.

“So, you’re fine with Dexter going out on dates?” Briella asked.

“No, I never said that, but I can’t stop him from going out,” Mila admitted.

“And what about you? Do you have anyone lined up to go out with?”

“No, and at this point, I don’t even want to go out with anyone. It’s just too soon. I need to get my head straight before I can even think of going out with anyone,”

“Well, I think you’re making a big mistake, but if this is what it takes to get you to see it, then so be it!” Briella told her. “Oh look! There’s Raelynn and Aubrie. Let’s get started.”

. When Raelynn got to them, she put her hand on Briella’s slightly protruding belly and rubbed it. “How are you feeling today, sweetie?”

“I’m feeling pretty good actually. In fact, I have a little picture to show you,” she said, pulling the ultrasound pictures out of her purse and handing them over.

Raelynn squinted at it. “Looks to me like there is a shadow in there or something. It’s not a very clear picture.”

Briella took the picture back and looked at it. “Hmm, I don’t see a shadow, just two babies.” She looked back up at the three women and raised her eyebrows, as if she was waiting for something.

  “Two babies?” Mila asked.

“Two!” Raelynn exclaimed, snatching the picture back to look closer.

Briella nodded and her face lit up. “We found out yesterday that we’re having twins. Imagine two little Kasons running around!”

“Or worse, two little Briellas!” Mila laughed.

“Wow, so I’m going to be like a double aunt or something,” Aubrie blurted out. “I mean…oh, you know what I mean!” she said, as she hugged Briella.

“Well, what do you think Raelynn?” Briella turned to her mother-in-law.

“I’m speechless. I’m happy beyond words! This is wonderful!” Raelynn looked as though she had been handed the most wonderful news ever. She stared at Briella with wide eyes.

Three hours and hundreds of dollars later, the four of them left the mall. Briella had a whole new wardrobe to fit the size she was now, and some that she would grow in to.

A week later, everyone gathered at Briella and Kason’s for a Christmas celebration. Stella had made a wonderful dinner for everyone, and was invited to join them when they ate.

After dinner, everyone went to the family room, where the Christmas tree sheltered a collection of festively wrapped boxes. Kason put on a Santa hat and handed one to his father. “Come on, let’s play Santa, Dad!”

Kason dragged his father over to the tree, and they began handing out presents.

Briella and Kason received a new digital camcorder from Raelynn and Bruce, which they couldn’t wait to use after the babies were born. Kason had other ideas, and whispered in Briella’s ear, “Bring that camcorder upstairs with us later. I’ve always wanted to try that.” Briella blushed, and laughed at Kason’s suggestion, but knew she would give in to his request.

Kason handed Dexter and Mila two small packages that were identical to each other. When they opened them, they found two plane tickets, along with brochures for a hotel. “You two need to work out whatever is going on between you, and what better place to do it than in paradise. You leave tomorrow for Bermuda. Enjoy yourselves, it’s all paid for!”

Mila and Dexter looked at each other, and smiled shyly. They both thanked Briella and Kason, then left to pack for their trip.

“We were on a roll with the trips this year, especially since Briella didn’t feel much like shopping lately,” Kason said, as he handed two more small packages to his parents. “We thought you deserved two trips.” His parents opened their packages to find a cruise planned for January, and a trip through Europe in June.

“Wow, you guys didn’t have do this!” Bruce said.

“We know that, but we wanted to, and we can definitely afford it. The business is more profitable than ever. We have more money now than we could spend in a lifetime,” Kason explained.

“Thank you for our trips. We really appreciate it. I have always wanted to travel through Europe,” Raelynn said.

“Well, it’s just a small token of how much we appreciate you, and all that you have done for us. I can’t thank you enough for how you’ve accepted me into your family,” Briella said to Raelynn and Bruce.

Everyone turned to Aubrie. Briella handed her a small box. Inside was a keychain and a set of keys.

She looked up at Briella and Kason, her eyes narrowed in confusion.

“Come on, let’s go out to the garage,” Kason said, as he took Aubrie’s hand and led her outside. Just before he opened the door, he turned to her and said, “Now, this is a combination Christmas and graduation present from all of us. You’re lucky you made the dean’s list, or else you would have gotten a beater!” Kason laughed, and opened the door to the garage.

Aubrie gasped when she saw the
brand new black Audi TT 250 Quatro convertible. “Oh my God!” Aubrie yelled and ran over to it. “This is for me? This car right here?”

“Yes, it’s for you. I think we’ll be paying you enough at the firm for you to afford your own insurance, but just in case, we paid for the first three months of insurance too,” Briella said. “There is also one more small gift in the glove box.”

Aubrie got in her car, and opened the glove box. She found a ticket to New York, along with hotel confirmations for next week.

“Just remember that’s a round-trip ticket, so you’re coming back! Have fun spending New Year’s in New York. Jordan can’t wait for you to get there,” Briella said.

Aubrie began to sob. “Thank you so much. I can’t begin to tell you how much I appreciate all of this! I love you like crazy!”

“So, do I get the honor of being your first passenger?” Kason asked his little sister.

“You got it! Get in!” Aubrie said excitedly.

“Oh, and notice this car doesn’t have a back seat? Hopefully that will keep you out of trouble!” Kason joked, as they were pulling out of the garage.

Briella smiled and waved as they left. She turned to Raelynn and Bruce. “I think she liked it!”

“Briella, come sit down, you’re looking tired,” Bruce said. “We’ll finish cleaning up.”

Briella knew she must look bad if Bruce was asking her to rest. She felt tired, but didn’t realize anyone else had noticed. “You’re right. I guess I’m a little tired. There’s just been so much excitement around here lately,” Briella said, as she sat on the recliner.

“You want something to drink?” Bruce asked.

Briella was pleasantly surprised. “I guess I could use some juice or something, but I can get it.”

“No, you just sit right there, I’ll get it for you,” he said, as he walked back over to the couch where Briella was sitting. He popped up the foot rest, and lightly pushed her chair back so that she was reclined. “You just relax now. You’ve done more than enough work today.” He turned and went to the kitchen to get her some juice.
